Setting up hatchery

Scott was out yesterday helping some volunteers set up the hatchery for restocking.  With this warmer weather they are hopeful that the spawn will happen soon.  The commitment and dedication of the volunteers is amazing and appreciated. There are so many people willing to take time out of their busy schedules to do what they can to support the fishery on Lake Nipissing. Everyone wants to see a healthy, sustainable fishery for generations to come.

Thankfully it seems as if Spring has finally arrived.  It was a high of 16C yesterday and the snow is finally melting. Another 3 or 4 days of this weather and hopefully all the snow will be gone!

Walked down to the waterfront and finally saw open water by the point! Won’t be long before the floating docks go out and the boats launched. We are so looking forward to getting out boating this Spring. Nothing better than hopping in the boat and cruising Callander Bay or heading out onto Lake Nipissing.
