Restocking Has Begun

April 29, 2016,

The Lake Nipissing Stakeholders Association (LNSA)  have just begun collecting eggs for restocking. The MNRF put in a net a few days ago and advised the LNSA that they anticipated the females would be ripe for harvesting eggs today.

There were plenty of volunteers at Wasi Falls today to assist in the restocking efforts. Scott wants to send out a big thank-you to all who have shown interest in the process of restocking as well as all of those who spent several hours volunteering their valuable time.

Scott said there were more Walleye than he’s ever seen in the nets today.(The nets were overfull)
They figure they collected ~ 400,000 eggs today and will be at the falls the next few days until they get their 2,000,000 eggs.

Thanks to the MNRF for putting in such a long day processing all of those fish. They arrived in the early a.m. and were still at the falls long after the volunteers left.
