Catching when they are biting soft

Scott spent an hour fishing with our cottage guests and  showed them the benefit of using our simple wooden tip-up over a fishing rod when the Walleye are biting  soft.  The wooden tip-up allows you to see everything that is going on…you know when the minnow is stressed and it’s obvious when you are getting a bite.  The above photo shows one of our guests holding the fish Scott caught and  Scott’s still kicking himself for missing the first fish that hit.

Fishing has slowed down in the last week.

The moonlight photo shows how little snow there is currently on the lake. That should change as they are calling for 15 to 25sms of snow tomorrow.
