Preparing for Spring Opening
We are hard at work preparing for Spring opening. Scott groomed the grounds at the waterfront area and we’ve planted grass seed there. We lucked out that it rained the evening we put down the grass seed.
We’ve been raking, painting, moving rocks and have started our Spring clean-up now that most of the snow and ice has melted. We actually still have a little ice behind a couple of the cottages.
We will be putting in a couple of new air-conditioners, a new hot water heater for Lakeview Cottage as well as a new T.V. for Lookout Cottage. (When taking the T.V’s down I accidentally dropped one which necessitated the purchase of a new T.V. – I was a little annoyed with myself:) A new loveseat has arrived for Edgewater Cottage and we are switching the double bed in Edgewater to a new queen size bed. Our guests had mentioned how they would prefer a queen size bed in this cottage so we’ve made it happen. I’m still waiting on the new couch and loveseat for Lakeview Cottage. I’m hoping they arrive within the next week. (I purchased them a month ago @ Leons and they couldn’t tell me when they would be in the warehouse….always a little worrying)!
My cleaning staff will be arriving in early May so we can start the spring cleaning in the cottages. Our goal will be to get 2 cottages done a day. All bedding (sheets, blankets, comforters) have been washed and I’ll be taking down all drapes and cleaning them as we go through the cottages. We’ll be able to get a little rest when our guests arrive:)
