The last of our opening weekend guests departed yesterday and all were mentioning how many fish they caught this past weekend. The one group with 8 guys estimate they caught over 200 Walleye in their 3 days of fishing. They also caught several Perch, Pike and Smallmouth Bass – which were all thrown back as Bass season opens the 3rd Saturday in June.

The weather has turned cold overnight so we’ll see what this extreme temperature change will have on fishing over the next couple of days. We woke up to 0C this morning with the forecast saying it will be a high of 14C today.

It was a hugely successful opening weekend for our fishermen. Let’s hope mother nature co-operates for the rest of the Spring season.
