Summer may have only just begun, but we're already looking ahead to one of our favourite times of the year on Lake Nipissing—fall walleye season.

We're incredibly grateful for the support we've received from our guests, and we're excited to share that our summer season is fully booked. While summer gets most of the attention, many of our returning guests will tell you that September and October are some of the best months of the year to experience Glen Echo Cottages.

Why Fall is Special at Glen Echo

Glen Echo Cottages is located on the channel connecting Callander Bay to Lake Nipissing. As water temperatures begin to cool, walleye move through this area, creating excellent fishing opportunities close to the resort.

One of the biggest advantages of staying at Glen Echo during the fall is that you don't have to travel far to find fish. Guests are often fishing productive water within sight of the resort, allowing more time with a line in the water and less time running across the lake.

Protected Water Means More Fishing Days

Anyone who has spent time on Lake Nipissing knows that wind can sometimes dictate where and when you fish. Our location in the channel provides a sheltered area that often allows anglers to fish comfortably even when conditions are less favourable on the open lake. Having protected water nearby means more opportunities to get out on the water and enjoy your trip. For many guests, that peace of mind is just as valuable as the fishing itself.

Upgraded Boats for Fall Fishing

To help guests make the most of their time on the water, several of our Crestliner and Starcraft rental boats are now equipped with Minn Kota Terrova trolling motors.

Whether you're working the channel for migrating walleye, holding on a breakline, or slowly covering productive fall structure, these upgrades provide better boat control and make it easier to fish effectively throughout your stay.
